Over the summer during her archival research, Dr. Fariba Zarinebaf was interviewed by the History & Culture program, Medyascope in Istanbul. Watch her interview on YouTube.

Medyascope is an independent program devoted to debates and discussion with leading scholars of their contributions to the history of the Ottoman Empire.  It is the most watched program on History & Culture (live) in Turkey with 145 episodes (weekly). Zarinebaf was their first foreign guest, and they interviewed her on her two books. The first is on Istanbul (Crime and Punishment in Istanbul, 1700-1800 UC Press, 2011) and the second is on Galata (Mediterranean Encounters: Trade and Pluralism in Early Modern Galata, UC Press, 2018). Zarinebaf also discussed her next book project on the Silk Road: From Persia to the Ottoman Empire and  Europe in the Early Modern Period.
