Graduate Admissions

The Department of History accepts applications for the MA in History, MA in Public History, and the Ph.D. in History.  Students entering the Ph.D. program without an MA may also earn an MA in History or Public History in route to earning the PhD.  Admission is offered for Fall only and we do not allow deferred admission. Priority consideration for Fall 2027 admission will be given to applications submitted by Sunday, December 13.  We encourage prospective students to start an e-mail dialogue with one or more faculty members with expertise related to their area of research interest.
