My dissertation, "Parading Persia: West Asian Geopolitics and the Roman Triumph," explores the cultural exchanges and negotiations between local polities in West Asia and Roman military forces. "Parading Persia" specifically compares inscriptions from West Asia with contemporary Roman triumphal parade narratives, and demonstrates that there were conflicting narratives of Roman acquisition of West Asian territories.
